Fencing Installation & Repair in Droitwich

We provide fencing installation and repair for both domestic and commercial properties across Droitwich Spa and the surrounding villages, including Wychbold, Ombersley, Hanbury and Fernhill Heath. Whether you need a new boundary fence for your home, replacement panels after storm damage, or secure perimeter fencing for a commercial premises, we supply and fit everything to a high standard using quality materials built to last. We work with a wide range of fencing styles — closeboard (featheredge), lap panel, post and rail, picket and trellis — and will help you choose the right option based on your property type, boundary situation and budget. A good fence adds privacy, security and a tidy finish to any property, and fitted correctly it should last for many years without issue.

Post installation is one of the most important parts of any fencing job and something we never rush or cut corners on. Poorly set posts are the most common cause of fences failing early — leaning, shifting or rotting at ground level within just a few years. We use concrete spurs or full concrete posts where appropriate, set to the correct depth for a stable, long-lasting result. For rural properties around Hanbury and Wychbold where larger boundary runs and post and rail fencing are more common, we also have the experience and equipment to take on bigger jobs alongside straightforward domestic panel replacements.

Every job is handled from start to finish — we remove and dispose of all old fencing, prepare the ground properly, fit everything to a high standard and leave the site clean on completion. No hidden charges, no cutting corners. Get in touch for a free, no-obligation quote for fencing in Droitwich or the surrounding villages.

We also carry out storm damage repairs across Droitwich Spa and the surrounding villages. If high winds have brought down panels, lifted posts or damaged a section of your fence, we can assess the damage and carry out a prompt, tidy repair to get your boundary secure again quickly.

Boundary fencing — whose fence is it?

One of the most common questions we get asked before a fencing job is: whose fence is it, and who is responsible for maintaining it? The answer depends on your property's title deeds. Your deeds will usually show a "T-mark" on the boundary lines — the fence belongs to whichever side the T points toward. If you're unsure, your solicitor's paperwork from when you bought the property should clarify it.

You are not legally obliged to maintain a boundary fence unless your deeds say so. You are entitled to erect a fence on your own land right up to the boundary line without your neighbour's permission — but if you want to replace a fence that belongs to your neighbour, or sits on a shared boundary, it's always worth talking to them first. We're happy to advise on what's involved and carry out the work once you're in agreement.

Height rules: In most residential areas, a front garden fence must be no higher than 1 metre. A rear or side garden fence can be up to 2 metres without needing planning permission. Different rules apply in conservation areas or for listed properties — check with Wychavon District Council if you're unsure.

Common Questions

Fencing FAQ

We install featheredge (closeboard) fencing, lap panel fencing, post and rail fencing, picket fencing, trellis panels and composite fencing. Post and rail is popular on the larger rural properties around Wychbold and Hanbury. We'll advise on the right style for your garden, situation and budget.
Yes — we remove all existing fencing and dispose of it as part of the job. You don't need to arrange a skip or separate waste collection.
Yes. We supply all materials — posts, panels or boards, gravel boards and concrete posts where needed — so you only have one company to deal with from start to finish.
A typical garden fence run (up to 20–30 metres) can usually be completed in one day. Larger jobs may take two days. We'll give you a clear timeframe at the quoting stage.
Featheredge (closeboard) fencing offers the best privacy — the overlapping vertical boards leave no gaps, making it ideal for rear garden boundaries. Lap panels are also effective and more cost-efficient. If you want privacy with some light and a softer look, a solid fence topped with trellis panels is a popular option.
Pressure-treated featheredge fencing with concrete posts and concrete gravel boards typically lasts 20–25 years with minimal maintenance. The concrete posts and gravel boards eliminate the two points most likely to rot — where timber meets soil and moisture. Composite fencing lasts even longer (30+ years) and never needs staining, but costs more upfront.
You are legally entitled to erect a fence on your own land up to the boundary line without your neighbour's permission. However, it is good practice to let them know — particularly if the new fence will be taller, or if access to their garden is needed during installation. If the fence belongs to your neighbour or sits on a shared boundary, you would need their agreement before replacing it.
A gravel board is a horizontal board or concrete panel fitted at the base of a fence between the posts, just above ground level. Its job is to take the brunt of soil contact and moisture — so the fence panels themselves stay dry and last longer. We recommend gravel boards on all featheredge and lap panel fencing, particularly where soil is banked up against the fence or drainage is poor — which is common on the heavier clay soils around Droitwich.
